Primola is a very well run establishment. Its staff are patient, kind and very professional. They can make anything you request happen. You are transported when you go into Primola. A true Italian dining experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a premiere food experience.

Very nice family style and cost restaurant. Very nice food and friendly service.

Was not too impressed. Went there twice and neither times did I leave their with my taste bud tingling. If you like blant food then you will love here. I love food rich in flavor.

Food does not taste fresh

Food was mediocre and took ages. They served bread that seemed like it had been cut in the morning and was slightly stale. Mushroom salad was boring. They had a burrata daily special (one of my favorites). This was a major let down as it hardly had the 'melt' that burrata should, it was closer to fresh mozz, minus the fresh part. We also did not find out the price till we received the bill (as it was a verbal special) - $26!? The pasta was decent, nothing to rave about. It was served too al-dente, after we waited nearly an hour for it. They were having a minor emergency with another guest, but nonetheless, the $140 lunch should not have suffered to that level.

It's good but it's Manhattan so be prepared for eye opening wine prices. I recommend wine by the glass and sitting at the bar. Service is excellent and otherwise very nice

Great East Side haunt for wonderful fresh Italian. Been that way for over 20 years! Can be a little hectic at dinner "rush hour", worth the wait.

Found the customer service was unfriendly and was stressed as i had to wait for a table for 45 minutes when we were promised a table in 10 minutes so we decided to leave!

Great local Italian restaurant. I had the truffle pasta and enjoyed it immensely. The meal overall was reasonable priced, though my pasta dish certainly was a bit pricey (but well worth it)!

Food took 2 hours to come

My first time at this place, certainly won't be the last. The frutti-di-mare spaghetti are the best in town, and the soft-shell crab special was also stellar. But the real star is the service. Thank you, Juliano! I'll be back.

Consistent every time ,top quality provisions

Brilliant!I had to drop my dog.off at AMC hospital for a couple of hrs for tests. This lovely place.was two blocks away. This is the way most restaurants used to be when i moved to NY in the late eighties. Alas, many of my favorites like Bouley and Le Cirque are no more. From the pictures on the walls i saw many faces from those places. This is where they are coming and now i know why. There are only a few places left like this in the world. Where you are treated well, not rushed and served deliciois food. First visit and i am impressed and will be back. A lovely lunch with wine, soup, chicken and dessert. No surprises, just delicious. Professional kind service. I was a eating alone with my book and was treated very well. It was obvious that the room was filled with regulars at lunch and i was treated just like them. I want to thank Primola for a lovely break in my day.

If I could give less than a star I would.....Sub par food! Carpaccio lacked seasoning...veal was dry....risotto was watery...and owner was nasty! Would never go back! Manhattan is filled with fabulous old time restaurants where the patrons are welcomed and food is fabulous....I feel this place has a following of old timers that have lost the taste for real culinary experiences.....this is one place to pass on!!!

Recommends by hotel, wouldn't let us in because we had a stroller? The place was empty, 1 table had customers. Disappointing to say the least. We ended up going down the street and dropped a couple hundred at another establishment that welcomed us.

Beautiful Italian restaurant with excellent service and food. We had the risotto frutte de Mari, grilled Mozzarella and tartufo ice cream. Everything delicious. Even my cappuccino was phenomenal. Can't wait to come back
